What is Liver Disease?
Liver is one of the biggest solid organs of our body. It is placed in upper right part of the abdomen. The largest part of the organ lies under cover of the rib cage.



Causes of Liver Disease
Liver diseases may differ in causation.
They may be of short period, long term or acute liver disease,  chronic liver disease. An acute or sensitive liver disease may also change into chronic liver disease over time.
A number of liver diseases are caused by infective viruses similar to Hepatitis virus (A, B and C).
Liver diseases also effect from taking in some drugs or alcohol over long term. Occasionally the diseased liver over long term turn into shrunken and scarred.
Such a condition is called cirrhosis. Like additional organs liver can also be afflicted with cancers.

Liver Function


It is not just the size of  liver but also its tasks that makes it so significant.
Its main functions include processing food that passes through the gut and converting it into energy that can be utilized by body.
It is as well a powerful detoxification midpoint that handles many chemicals, alcohol, poisons and toxins plus drugs and clears the blood.
Liver also makes bile and stores it in a small pouch like organ called gall bladder. This bile helps in digestion mainly fats.

Liver Cirrhosis:
It is normally considered as 4th stage of alcoholic liver disease and causes liver harm severely.
